The “Alpine Shovel Yarder” conversion consists of a multi drum winch set, a logging boom and fairlead fitted to the excavator boom or arm, and a hydraulic control package necessary to convert your ‘shovel’ into an efficient cable yarder. Alpine Shovel Yarders do not need guyropes to stabilize the tower, which means the Alpine Shovel Yarder can operate as a true mobile, mini swing yarder.
